2019 Spring Ducklings

An excellent article that describes in detail each step of starting with ducklings. The pictures were useful for showing what was being discussed in the article.
I enjoyed this article. :) A rolling account of the lives of any creature if carefully observed can be very informative. A cut above the usual.
AWESOME article! Those are some very lucky duckies to have an owner like you!:love

Excellent!
Like the watering set up, but the thought of raising 15 ducklings in the house makes me shudder. Ducklings look as if they arrived in great condition. Most ducks go through a 'terrified' period in their teen aged spell.

I think the white layers have reached the »terrified« period by now. My assumption is that the feathers are causing some discomfort when they break through the skin. Sometimes the ducklings sit calm and sleepy then squeak, jump up and run through the brooder without any obvious reason. They also dislike to be touched and picked up.
Such cute ducklings, I'm looking forward to following their journey.

This is a great start! The wire basket is such a good idea for a Mama Heating Pad (or cave.) Using a cutaway bin to contain water mess is pure genius! My next brooder box will definitely be using your basket ideas. Very nicely done!

Thank you very much for the kudos! - Let's see what the ducklings think about it. ;-)
(I already picture me in the middle of the night hunting for a duckling under my bed...)
Thank You! Now that I have found your article, I will follow it. It is nice getting in at the beginning. It will be interesting to see how the three different breeds react to you and your family as well as each other. I appreciate the detailed photos of your assembling the brooder.

You won't be disappointed, i hope. I am planning on documenting every day in the duckling's life. As a memory for me and a reference to others.
Good start to the series.
