Why is my chicken feed killing everything that grows where I throw it?

In thinking there might be something in the larger crumbles, maybe excess nutrients or something in it that kills the ground

Maybe excess calcium?

Scratch and Peck sprouts. I sprout grains for my birds and use Scratch and Peck as my sprouting grains. I might understand if pellets were killing things, but Scratch and Peck shouldn't.

Dunno if something got edited but OP never mentioned using S&P. Mentioned brands were Dumor, Nature's Best & generic scratch.

I know. They mentioned briefly that a family member said vegetation was dying where she was throwing S&P.

I think @TheFatBlueCat nailed it. The ground is bare because of the traffic, pecking at the ground and scratching.
