Beautiful babies @FrankieDoodle ! I think I would love-ish a neighbor like that too. It is kind of your fault for being nice instead of naughty Cuz then it would have been rocks and coal... or maybe cookies.

Planning a simple early dinner of AJ's favorite shrimp scampi for tomorrow. May skewer some w/ pineapple for DH. Just letting that roll around in my head, well that and cleaning my floors that is.
Flock is good with 2 roos out and I hope it holds. I think I see a little picking and choosing of sides. Little BeBe seems to be the big disrupter of things. Yes, little cockerel has a name now.
If alpha roo lets sub roo have a few girls this whole thing can work. He does not like them all anyways. I have 10 new pullets making the scene, or maturing anywhere from 1-3or 4 more months. That is 20 ++ girls and should be enough for 2... even 3 he he BeBe!

Sonny spent most of the day asleep in my hand. She pooped on me twice, but it was worth it. I don’t remember the last time I had babies this friendly. Apparently though, having a sleeping chick in my hand for so long has messed up my wrist. I had to steal my sisters brace for a little bit. I feel so old.
Although I bet by tomorrow morning I’ll have completely forgotten about the consequences and she’ll be back in my hand all day. XD

Cher bit me when I reached in their cage at one point. Sonny is a sexlink so I know she’s a girl, but I’m not so sure about Cher. I’m hoping she’s a girl, but I’ve had pretty good luck so far, so it’s only a matter of time before it breaks. Who knows, maybe she just doesn’t like me.

Poor peeps were up for a few hours screaming after their daytime light turned off and the towel went up. They did not want to go to bed. I thought it was Cher who was doing most of the screaming, but Mom said it was Sonny. If that’s the case, I’ve raised a clingy little monster. It hasn’t even been a full day. XD

Was a really great morning!! Lots of presents and happiness The kids were so excited and shocked by the kitten She’s already in my daughters lap sleeping while they watch TV she’s so happy she hasn’t really spent any time with her other gifts!

On a much sadder note, Eevee’s heart gave out today and he died in my arms. I’ve been sobbing for the last hour and holding him. I’m sure it’s a bit ridiculous to be so upset, but he was my first chicken I just fell in love with and my heart is broken I’m not sure what I need to do differently but clearly I am doing something wrong to lose 3 chickens in only one month.

So, so so so so so SO sorry. I know these are hard lessons but they are lessons and we do better and get luckier as we go. I have lost so many for one reason or another. Some I was able to be faster at doing better and some just blindside me. I take my losses as part of chicken keeping now. I absolutely hate losing my angels but I learn and stay strong for the rest ♡♡♡ I think you are an all around wonderful ninja super mom. Deep breath, big hugs ♡♡♡ one foot infront of the other. "This too shall pass" ♡♡♡ and the pain will ease.

Oh @kurby22 I'm so so sorry. What a confusing day...all the happiness and excitement about Miyuki and then to have juggle that with the loss of your sweet Eevee. Big hugs.
