I stopped getting notifications for this thread. Sorry to everyone dealing with sick birds and losses. I hope it gets easier soon.

@kurby22 I can’t wait to see pics of Miyuki once you get her home! It’s a great name.


I finished the rest of my chicken figurines last week. I made a total of 43 chickens (30 hens, 5 roosters, and 3 chicks) and 3 ducks, all made with clay and painted with acrylic.

Those look amazing! What an awesome project and great way to remember all your birdies! I’m trying to come up with a good way to remember Brad and Ms. Pretty. My daughter wants a plaque like they give you when your dog dies at the vet, with a paw print and their name. I’m not sure there are any like that for chickens! Little clay versions would be neat! I’ll have to look around for something!

I took some time today to get some chicken snuggles to help me feel less sad about my girls. Puff Puff may have made me a sad panda by crowing, but he knows how to make me happy too! He even laid his head down on my neck and let me snuggle him. He’s just the best boy

You can get a bag of ready mix cement from HD for under $10. Mix in a bucket, pour, let sit for 48 hours and your kids can paint on the smooth front. Maybe handprints or dates written on the back. Just a thought if you can not find anything else and I know you an your kids are super clever and hands on.
