What did you do in the garden today?

we planted Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts, Broccoil. Cauliflower, and Cilantro , also mulched in those raised beds with shredded straw

Got the onions in the ground and the potatoes.
Want to get my little flower bed set up and going but it is still getting down to the low 30's at night. So just don't want to risk it.

I planted some crooked neck and lemon squash, okra, tomatoes, evergreen cabbage, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers so far.
And in with some of the plants I planted some marigold seeds from my plants last year and some 6" zinnias.
I still need to plant some herbs but have not been able to find the seeds yet.

yesterday we doubled the size of our garden (15ft x 30ft) I tilled it with our tiller and fenced it in (we have lots of deer and such lol) we threw in the green beans from our green house and also planted 3 eggplant plants and 2 red leaf lettuce plants... soon we will have the swiss char and carrots to transfer from the green house as well.

I chased four cows out of my garden this morning. They did a number on my lettuce. Someone left the gate to the pasture open.

Sounds wonderful! Are you planning on selling or canning that many?

We'llprobably sell any extras. Last year the bugs got most of my tomatoes off of around 25 plants so this year I wanted to make sure there'd be enough.

bugs were bad last year... it was a dry year (at least in NY) so I'm hoping it won't be as bad this year

I am still traumatized by our Alabama drought last year. It was pretty bad. No substantial rain for six months. I think the bugs died of thirst.
