So I have NO clue what breed would lay a pink egg with white spots, I have been consistently getting them; but be warned. It won’t be as simple as narrowing down three breeds. I have a variety of 25 ladies all one year+
So any ideas? What breed could be capable of this? Also this probably isn’t a young layer problem since I already mentioned all my girls are 1year+

Thanks for the input!

A pinkish/purplish tint on light brown eggs is often due to the bloom/cuticle,
which can vary from day to day.
Have had both Lt. Brahma and Wyandottes lay pinkish/purplish eggs.

'Speckled' eggs can happen for several different reasons...very few, if any, of which are a 'problem'.
Can be caused by:
Excess or uneven pigment coating.
Excess or uneven cuticle(bloom).
Excess calcium deposits.
Porous eggs can appear speckled.
Some birds lay them consistently, some only once in awhile.
The pigment or bloom can change appearance when wet, then change back when dry again.

As long as bird is getting a good diet and is healthy in every other way, it is no cause for concern.

Thank you for all the information! I hadn’t been worried about my flock, I’m just hatching eggs and was curious if anyone had seen certain breeds do this? Oh well I suppose it will have be to a surprise! Thank you.

I have an Easter Egger hen that lays Pink with White Speckles.

I also have an Easter Egger hen that lays Turquoise with White, & occasionally green speckles.

Thanks! I think I have narrowed it down to either my BO hens or my Wyondotte girl.
You could always put food dye in their vents to figure out who's laying those eggs. I did this, for a girl who was laying olive Eggs, & had some interesting results.

The girl who I figured out who is laying olive eggs, isn't laying olive for some reason anymore. All I'm getting is cream.

I could.......... just regular old food dye? Or something else?
Also that’s really cool! What breed was she?
