More fun. Vlad Tepes is widely believed to be the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. He's one of the most brutal leaders in history. As an aside, he and his brother were not abducted. Their Father sent them to the court of the Ottoman Sultan as political hostages of a sort, to ensure the Sultan that he was aligned with Ottoman policies. Sending children to foreign courts as token of alliance was pretty common all over Europe for centuries.

There is a lot of history there I'm not familiar with. Thanks.

I don't mind them. (I'm retired )

I’m retired too and 2023 was my last year to work since 1979


I went to the beach (actually the parking lot) in March and did not walk in the sand to the Gulf of Mexico

The apartment complex pool opened for spring break in April and I have not been to the pool yet. I enjoy hearing the children at / in the pool from my patio (I can see part of the pool area)

The perfect time to retire would be after 20-25 years of working

When you still have the desire to go and do the things you love to do

Reminds me of a true story that happened to me working in a family owned store

Summer of 1980
I was a size 12 bell bottom pants that covered my shoes and wearing about 4 inche platform sandals

Fall of 1980
I was a size 14 petite pants and flat shoes

Customer's : what happened to that girl that worked here this past summer

Me: oh that was me

Customer’s : oh no honey she was tall and skinny and you are short and fat

I don’t remember how I felt at the time

But thinking about it now as an older retired woman it is hilarious and

what a shock to someone who doesn’t see that great to understand the drastic difference in size and height to be the same person
