How to introduce new birds to older birds?

These 6. Put one of the new ones into the pen with the older ones and an older one just about picked up the younger one when she went after it. They are in adjacent pens but the chick pen is covered with plastic to block drafts when it was colder out. How do I introduce new chicks to my year old layers?
The layeres pen is just out of the pic to the right.

I have had good results after a few weeks of being exposed to each other. I have a section in the coop that the new ones are put in. The others can see but can't get to them. I will let them in with the others and see what happens. If it looks bad they go back in for a while.

I did take the plastic up between the 2 coops to allow more visibility between the 2 groups.
