Hello

Hi everyone! My name is Marcie.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I have had chickens for 3 years so I am still learning and relatively new.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 8 adults, and 10 babies. Of the adults I have a blind chicken and one who has a leg problem similar to arthritis for us.

(3) What breeds do you have? Red lace Wyandotte, white leghorn, frosted Legbar, Easter egger, lavendar olive egger, barred rock, cochin rooster, bantam frizzle/easter egger mix, 3 baby barred rocks, 2 baby opal legbars, baby welbar, 2 baby seramas, baby crested Legbar, and a baby sapphire olive egger.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love sitting with them. My two golden girls (blind and leg) will come up to me to talk and chat. They are never far away. I find them to be very social and curious.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I enjoy gardening, hiking, bicycling, walking, and photography.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have 2 teenagers, a husband, 3 dogs, pond fish, 2 bearded dragons.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I believe I found you last summer while searching for information. Now I cone here first to see what others say and post when I have questions!
Welcome to BYC!

Hello Marcie and welcome to BYC! :frow

Nice introduction! Lovely variety of breeds you keep, makes for a colorful chicken yard for sure!

Make yourself at home here and welcome to our community!
Thanks! Yes I love the variety! And they get along wonderfully too. Well except for my golden girls. They are with babies right now and no issues there. The barred rock (Plum) lets them run all over her. The adults though find her as a weakness.
