From almost 2 weeks ago

I just realized something.

If eggs in the incubator and under Tamar actually hatch later this week then the age difference between Martha's brood and the new ones will be about 6 weeks. The age difference between the Speckled Sussex and the Dominiques is also about 6 weeks.

After church...

Rahab was brooding in the wrong box.

Lydia, Abigail, and Martha were all being very noisy. I saw Martha stick her head in a nesting box and drag a Dominique hen out by the back of the neck, TWICE. Feeling broody again, Martha?

Noisy!

The littles leg bands looked tight, so I caught them one at a time and replaced the zip-ties.

They ALL had red faces, probably from the excitement of being chased!

"LC" ("boy", he's come a long way!)

Purple band ("boy"!)

Lime green ("boy!")

Blue band

Compare that picture to this of Blue band and Purple band after they'd recovered from the trauma of being held by Grape Lady!

Blue's face isn't as developed as "her" hatchmates.

I didn't band the black chick, didn't see a need.
