Hello new friends
I thought I would join this forum so I can ask questions about my fears/concerns about chook-rearing and give my poor friend a rest.
(1) When did you first get chickens?
We got our original two ladies in October 2017.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have four, two hens and two pullets. We have had six but sadly two have died.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have had four Isa Browns (two of which were the ladies we sadly lost), one Australorp and one Barred Rock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The fresh eggs are nice, but they have become secondary. Our girls are our pets, with their quirky personalities and hilarious antics.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Playing music, gardening, sewing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, or anything else you'd like to share.
Hubby and son plus two cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Various internet searches have called up pages from this site. I’ve known about it for a while now and decided to join so I could ask questions and voice concerns and not drive my experienced chook-friend nuts!
