Just ordered the Brinsea Ovation 28 EX from Amazon for my wife. A birthday present. We had tried a Farm Innovations 4250 from Tractor Supply. Put 12 eggs in 7 should development. Thought we were in good shape. Then at Day 17 then heater started malfunctioning. Two chicks made it, one a day early and one a day late. 30 Day warranty vs 3 year warranty for Brinsea, Wish we had just spent the money to start with. Those 2 chicks worked out to be $80 each after dead Incubator in one use.

Hopefully everything said about the Brinseas is true.
 
Oh crap -- those are expensive chicks! Hopefully, the Brinsea will work out for you. I've heard great things from friends and family who have used their incubators.

Does anyone know if they ever offer free shipping from their website?

Well Tractor supply took the broken one back today since it had been less than 30 days so now the chicks just cost $12 each as we had $24 worth of eggs in the bator

I got my Brinsea from Amazon which was a little lower than the Brisea Site and Free shipping if you have Prime or if you don't mind waiting a few days more. I signed up for the Amazon Credit Card for this purchase too and got $70 Gift Card and will get 5% on all Amazon purchases. So all in all it took a little sting out of the purchase.

I was reminded that it is worth checking the warranty. A product that has 3 year warranty is likely worth 3 times what a 30 day warranty is.
 
I just got a Brinsea Ovation 56 EX, and can't wait to use it. Eggs are a real hot item over here in the ilands and my dozens go for $10.. almost a dollar an egg. So naturally, we have decided to increase our flock. I've not artificially incubated since I was like 7 or 8 and am a bit nervous, but it seems that with this model and type it should go pretty smoothly. I will be turning it on for the first time today. I saved like 4 months of egg money for this.
And just to let ppl know if you check out their Facebook page one can usually find a discount code. I got 10% off my purchase and the shipping was not bad. Here in Hawaii shipping is almost the same as the item you ordered, usually.
I'm reading the incubation threads now. Can't wait! My goal is purple eggs!!
 
Day 4 on my Brinsea 28 EX. The temp is rock solid, see attached photos. I have a wireless temp and humidity gauge that records every minute and send to my phone. If I m not around it sends the data later. As you can see the temp range is only .4 degrees. Humidity is pretty cool too. When it gets low it pumps a drop in and you see it rise, then settle till the second drop lands, then it drop again and repeats. We had our last incubator heater go crazy so we are a little crazy about temps. I feel really secure with the consistency.

Would you mind telling us what wireless temp and humidity gauge you use? I like the idea of having that info sent to my phone. Thanks
