All advice for raising ducklings please

Now question is if there are still some veins I won't be able to check again for like 10 hrs. Should that be ok? I can have my daughter peek at it but she won't candle or anything. Should I leave the plastic wrap on while I am at
My fear is him pushing into it and getting his face stuck and suffocating
Not sure it’s a good idea now that he can push

Should I take it off tonight then? I am always nervous and checking now since he wiggles around a LOT!!!
It’s such a hard call
It will keep that membrane moist but plastic wrap can be dangerous as well You have come this far with him I want him to make it
Maybe make the plastic wrap hole bigger
Just so it can’t go over his face at all

I know it is so hard!!!! Most of the membrane over the top of him is already broken and moved down but I don't want the rest drying out either

Ok so while I had him out making the hole bigger I figured I would candle again. It has been 4 hrs since last. I think there is a big difference but still not ready. Also saw one area that I wondered if it was the yolk sac so if it is I can watch that too and it is his FOOT over his bill that he keeps poking out not a wing.... Tried to get a pic of that but he brought it in. Lol

Getting much closer
I bet 4-6 hours he will be ready

Ya I saw the veins, I just never realized they pulled away from the sides of the egg. Lol. Going to have to check in the am. I checked around 7pm. So 6-8 hrs is 1-3am which normally I am up but I have a cold and have to be up around 6am for work. So probably shouldn't stay up till 1. So it will be about 13 hrs till I can check at 6am. Then can't really check again until like 4:30 pm

Ok so funny thing. The first duckling pipped last Wed. (Hatch day was Sat), I had chicken eggs due to hatch at the same time. First chicken egg pipped Thurs night I think it was and the chick hatched first.

Well I had set a few eggs 5 days after the first set. I have 3 that should hatch Thurs. But they internally pipped earlier today so betting external tonight or in the am. So we once again will have a race to see who hatches first.

Has anyone had a duck hatch this late and be fine??? Think we are now on day 31.
I have. I had one that I thought would never come out of the shell and it lived just fine. My incubator was not the correct temperature evidently and if I remember right it was around 32 days. Hang in there, I think things will be alright for this little guy.

Sure looks like that is the yolk sac. I had one that came out on a clean paper towel in a home made incubator with the whole egg sac outside of its body. It absorbed it in about 4 hours and was perfectly fine.

Ok I didn't see that blob I thought was the yolk sac today, going to look again. But there are still the thin veins. And I got a pic of the foot over the beak assuming it shouldn't be that way?

I leave for work in 45 min and won't be home for 9 hrs..... I can have my daughter check the plastic wrap but not sure how much more she would be comfortable doing.

Looked for what I thought was the yolk sac. And the veins show more red in pics than in person
