Breed guesses on 6-7 week old chick

So I did what any chicken lover easily falls victim to- I took the kids to an interactive farm experience, and came home with a chick for me 👍🏽She’s incredibly calm which is why I fell in love. The farmer couldn’t be clear on the breed as it was a rescue but she suspected light sussex & maybe...

Contagious- rotating eye squint? Bulging right crop?

Hi all, I have 5x 4 week old chicks. I noticed 1 chick had its eye closed & when I opened it it looked slightly pink. The next day it looked fine but another chick had its eye closed. That chick looks fine today, but another chick now has 1 pink eye. They are all eating heaps! For context-...

Hello all, Having trouble locating threads on this topic. I have a beautifully calm & docile barnevelder chick. From the day she hatched she has enjoyed being held and loves snuggles. She’s incredibly relaxed to the point where sometimes I’m concerned that she’s sick. Her weight & growth is...

    What’s causing this?

Our 2 month old bantam Australorp has a feather issue- they look like they’ve been nibbled at? What’s causing this? Is this a rat eating her feathers? Is it another chicken?

    Chicken trilling

Hi there, My young polish was taking a dust bath and trilling really loudly. Seemed oblivious to the world around it and had a chicken audience. My question is- do cockerels trill and do this behaviour too? We’ve been trying to determine if male/female

    Pekin bantam 3 weeks

Hi all, below are pictures of our 3 week old pekin. I really hope she is a she because she is friendly and snuggly. I have been worried because she runs and jumps into the face of the boss chick. The boss chick then stands tall over her. Please let me know your thoughts
