Been taking advantage of things to paint the chicken coop. Still have stencil to do on the back. The 4 babies I ordered are growing every day and should be ready to put in the coop in a week or so.
Today, I made 7 hydrangea cuttings. It may be late in the season, but still gets to 91 degrees here- tomorrow, will separate the variegated Loriope and put them in containers To keep in the house over winter. Next year, will submerge the containers in a stone garden- will make future separations...
I have St. Augustine grass and have to mow every 6-7 days. I have decreased watering to twice a week - was watering 3 x a week. With a $150 water bill, I decided I would rather keep the lights on than have green grass.
Well, got some dry rot on the house fixed- just need to paint. While I am at it, gonna paint the chicken coop and fix the roosts- gonna remove one- with only 4 chickens, don’t need that second one. Gonna caulk the nesting boxes real good - maybe it will help waterproof that sucker.

Fall chicks are best- they feather out before winter and use the cold months to grow so that in the spring (when others are getting their babies) yours are ready to lay.
WEll, re sanded the chicken run and hand picked leaves out of the rock garden. I also pulled the climbing morning glory vines out of my climbing rose- boy I hate those things - that and wild viiolets grow in my garden and I can not get them all pulled up. also have all sorts of weeds growing...
Glad little spud arrived safe and sound. Around here, heavy lifting done yesterday- hauled off all the branches and trunks from cutting down crepe myrtle trees and the down branches from the pecan tree. Today, just sitting around like a veggie. Will weed whack this afternoon- maybe.
