This is Middle, one of my black Australorps. Middle makes a cute noise when I sing the Chickie Snack song. She says, "OHHHHHH!" with a lyrical rising and falling inflection. She's the only one who does it.
Sunny sat on my lap for a while today. She was staring intently just over my shoulder, but I couldn't turn around to see what she saw, or she would have jumped down.
Maybe she was staring AT my shoulder, thinking, I used to be able to jump up there...
Oh, Hen-Rietta... I wish I could give you hugs, dear lady.
:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs
Share them with Alex.
My grandmother's name was Henrietta. I look like her.
Yeah, that's the thing about going in to TSC. I leave after a while! :lau
The peeping stage is like puppyhood. You want it to be over, but you miss it when it's gone.
I was in TSC to get some fencing today. No chicks. I guess that's due to the HPAI situation here in Michigan.
I am not getting chicks this year, but oh how I missed the peeping. 😞
One of the wisest men who ever lived* once said,
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
But it's ok to cry too. It makes room for the smiles to come.
*Dr. Seuss.
Thanks for asking.
Pip is fine, as far as I can tell. I don't know if she's laying, but I haven't seen any lash material in a while.
I miss her getting on my shoulder. I think she's to big and heavy to get there now?
