  • 4-6 days old. The chicks all have tail feathers and are sprouting wings except the Buff Orpington’s who have no tail feathers yet. The yellow BO has grown bigger and stands taller and louder. Maybe a Roo. The gingery spotty BO is squatter and quieter, hopefully a pullet.

    Day 21. Crested Rock hybrid and second Welsummer successfully hatched 🐣 🥰 so 6 babies altogether. One egg remaining still no sound…will candle tomorrow if still silent.
    Day 20. Light Sussex hatched. 2 x buff Orpington’s pipped. Any guesses for m/f on the welsummer chick?!

    Day 18. One egg is tweeting. Broody threw 2 eggs out and they’ve gone cold, have popped them back under her but don’t hold much hope. At least one of them was moving in the egg on candling 2 days ago.
