A change in behavior like this is always a reason to take a cat to a vet. They are very very good at hiding when they are sick or injured. By the time it’s noticeable to us they can be very sick. It could be absolutely nothing but it could also just as easily be something life threatening.

Going off of the comb I believe it’s a male. It doesn’t look like a pure Barred Rock to me though. The pattern is too irregular for that.
