Poultry Medication Questions

@TudyBOT, http://www.poultrydvm.com/drugs/amoxicillin says:
  • Amoxicillin/clavulanate - 125-250 mg/kg PO q8-12h or 500 mg/L drinking water (B Speer).
  • Amoxicillin sodium - 50-250 mg/kg IM, IV q8-12h (B Speer).
  • Amoxicillin trihydrate - 55-200 mg/kg PO, SC, IM, IV q4-12 h or 200-1500 mg/L drinking water (B Speer).
Thank you for providing this information. The doses listed on the PoultryDVM website for amoxicillin and its different forms and formulations are indeed different than what I previously mentioned. As stated earlier, any variations in dosage or use of medication should always be determined by a licensed veterinarian. While general dosage recommendations may be found online, a veterinarian is best equipped to make specific dosage and treatment decisions based on the individual bird's weight, age, medical history, and condition.
