thanks for the welcome, i live in va as well, it looks like i have a few neihbors here . i own a small family farm it's only 10 acres but it keeps me busy. we have many critter here in va that like the taste of chicken , with that being said i wouldnt dream of raising chickens without protection, so i bought them a dog (actually 3 dogs for them and two for me) here is their puppy

1 irishwolfhound mix (a pound rescue dog) Hershey
1 black and tan (that lives in the house with me) Jewel
