Please DO NOT medicate any animal or person for that matter until you know what is wrong with them.
Just giving a medication because you have it on hand is 1000 times worse than doing nothing at all. Plenty of food and water with a touch of vitamins and lots of LOVE is the best medicine. There are times when meds are required, but they should only be used when prescribed by a vet. I am not talking about something used for lice or the like, I am talking about something that might kill the bird. Even if you give the animal the right med in the wrong amount, you could kill it faster than the disease you are trying to cure.
