Latch help and gap around door

Dog kennels have spring loaded latches for fencing.

I know what to use and where to find the stuff to close the gap. I'm not sure where to buy it lol
My city is up grading it infrastructure. AKA water, sewer, under ground cable.... I can get scrap pieces of yellow or orange 2"-4" heavy wall interduct piping. Cut the side just enough to get it over your metal fence pipe (it will give some so cut small slit), slide it on, close the gap and drill through both pipes and bolt with galvanized hardware.

You can overlap hardware cloth or welded wire by installing an overhang on both door and the surrounding door frame, so when the door closes the two overhangs sandwich over each other. It does prevent you from swinging the door in and out but this unit might not be designed to do that anyhow.
