My 7 week old chicks are free ranging occasionally. They have found the bird feeders and love to eat the seeds that have dropped to the ground. But so do the wild birds.

I am more concerned of them picking up something from the wild birds, than I am of them actually eating the feed.

Should I be concerned?

Thanks

That is a good question. My chickens also frequent the bird feeders. They are a year old now, and so far....so good.

I had to take my wild bird feeders down because with the wild birds came the preditory birds who then went after my chickens. Once the feeders were down and the birds left the preditors went with them and I had no more problems, at least until I moved here to the farm.
