Advice: Neighbor Chicken Invaded My Fenced Run

I'd forgotten about this thread! Here's an update on Chicken Jane, the escape artist:

After a big molt and a safe haven from rooster stress, she's turned into quite a pretty little lady! She's besties with my wry neck hen and, while not top of the pecking order, is happy to assert herself over my up and coming pullets. Her huge, frequent eggs are currently her only source of stress and we try to keep an eye out for reproductive issues.

She hasn't once escaped, either!

this sounds a lot like the stray cat that wanted to live at our house a few years ago, and has tuned into a fantastic, mouse-catching outdoor pet.

I think in your case the chicken picked its owner. She’s a lucky hen.
