16 week old Easter Eggers

99% of hatchery "feed store" Ameraucanas are actually Easter Eggers. "Rainbow Layer" assortments actually refers to the color of the birds "feather color" not their eggs. This assortment provided an array of colored hens such as Red, Buff, Black, Blue, White, Silver Laced, Gold Laced, etc.

Interesting - thanks for that info. I feel like chicks at feed stores here are often marked as Ameraucanas, but are actually just Easter Eggers or Olive Eggers. The bins that say “Rainbow Egg layers” make me even more wary, as I assume they are basically any chick the staff feels like throwing into the cage!!

This black and grey one is from one such bin at Orschelns, labeled either EE or Ameraucana, I can’t remember which. She was with the other 3, so I would bet she isn’t an actual Ameraucana then, right?

Exactly as @Gray Farms and @cstephens1987 said. Between the two of them, I don’t think I could have said it better.
