Amberlink roo x Easter Egger hen

Im not sure if this the correct place to post this but.. I thought you guys might find this interesting because from what I have seen it isn't a popular cross. I have hatched two chickens from an Amberlink rooster and a Easter Egger hen. They are about 8 weeks old as of posting this. The first...

    Mixing breeds into the flock

Are there any breeds to NOT mix together into the flock. We are just starting out and will pick chicks soon. We think we want a variety of hens, but are some potentially more aggressive towards others?

Help me decide what breeds i should use for my project/ if i should mix

If you know me, you know I'm not a fan of mixes. But there are some exceptions. Right now, the only two breeds I'm interested in breeding are the aseel, and a Greek landrace breed (and possibly yokohama but that's another thing). That being said, I'd like to start a project (so this would be the...

    What will I get?

Didn’t know where to put this, so I’m just guessing on this side of BYC, but I have a Lavender Orpington hen, and a Easter Egger roo that looks like a Wheaten Ameraucana, with like, a lavender laced chest and stuff, I’d send a pic if I could only get one 🤣. And obviously they mated, and she’s...

    Partridge Brahma x Laced Wyandotte

I just want to show off these WyBra's that I "made". I crossed laced wyandotte males with partridge brahma females this year, and thought the resulting pattern was quite lovely, and genetically interesting. It's the best of both patterns, with the partridge back and laced front. I only got...

Help Me Sex My Barnyard Mixes (EE/Silkie/Cochin/Ayam Cemani/??)

I'm definitely keeping Firefly and Galinda, but am trying to decide which of the blue chicks to keep. I'm hoping for something built similarly to their father. (Not positive it's him, but suspect it is based on their dark skin (only a couple of my hens have this)... I know that's not a lot to...

RIR + EE & Dominique + EE mixes what will they look like?

I'm incubating some eggs. My main Rooster is an Easter Egger and I have some EE hens, and a road island red hen and a Dominique hen, and I wanted to know what the mixes will look like as adults and if they will lay green eggs.
