Our female died tonight not sure why. I had cleaned cage and was sitting on floor and female was on bottom of cage and male was puffing up his chest and making noises he then jumped on her like they were mating, she then got up and jumped in nest with baby and flopped around not knowing what was going on I finished separating food containers then noticed male was sitting on edge of nest looking at her I stood up and seen she was dead. Will dad care for baby still I believe he has been caring for baby and feeding it but not sure. Any help would be appreciated

Loss is tough but is part of having pets. It is hard to pin point just what happen to your female it may have been something foreign that she ingested or maybe something as simple as weak genetics. Hope you have better luck in the future back yard buddy

She may have had trouble due to him jumping on her from were he was. females that may have eggs in can especially die from that, can they from spine or internal injury. sorry for your loss, but father n especially with squeaker at this age, should do good now caring for young.
