    Easter Egger club!

I'm afraid sweetpea is a cockerel, he already has ''rooster red'' patches coming in on his shoulders. He'll be a very handsome boy though.

    Easter Egger club!

How old are they? I think you're right, the first one looks like a cockerel. I'm not sure about the second one. That comb is pretty pink though. It looks like he/she has a single row comb, as far as I can tell from the photo. Without seeing the parents of the birds, and knowing their genetic...

    Easter Egger club!

I'm not sure about #1, but I'm leaning toward cockerel because of that red comb. #2 is a pullet #3 is a pullet. #4 is a cockerel.

    Easter Egger club!

The second one is probably a cockerel. I'm not sure about the other two. Update us in another couple of weeks.

    Easter Egger club!

Big comb + patchy coloring is making me lean toward cockerel. It's still a bit early to be sure though.

    Easter Egger club!

EE's tend to be a more docile breed. However, it really depends on the temperaments, age, etc of the birds in question. If your bantam rooster is older and has been in the coop longer, then he will probably be the boss. I have seen many a bantam rooster rough up a rooster two or three times his...

    Easter Egger club!

Yes, it sure looks that way. Is that a lavender orpington hiding in the bushes behind the EE?

    Easter Egger club!

Some of you might remember (probably not) that I had a game X duccle hen go broody last winter and hatch out some surprise chicks. They were fathered by a LF EE rooster. I ended up getting three pullets out of that batch. A white one, a black and gold one, and a black and white one. They all...

    Easter Egger club!

It looks like a pretty typical EE chick to me.

    Easter Egger club!

My EE's lay a whopper every now and then.

    Easter Egger club!

I'm not having a very good year with my EE's. I hatched around 24 chicks, thinking worse case scenario I'd have around a half dozen pullets. I'm not 100% sure on all of them, but I think they are all cockerels.

    Easter Egger club!

How old is big head? That comb looks very red, if she is under 8 weeks, than she is actually a he.

    Easter Egger club!

I must have missed this post, and since I don't get email notifications, I didn't notice you had tagged me. It's still a tad early, but so far none of them are screaming cockerel. I am a bit suspicious of the black and white birds in the first picture though, especially the one sitting next to...

I wish I was closer to you. They are both beautiful girls. I hope you find a home for them.
