I may not be hatching from these guys this year, since I've got Long in the coop with them, & he's been breeding the hens. I've got black Malays that I wanna breed to these, that also carry this trait, so will do so next year.

I have a technique that works alot of the time. Like all though, there's a small margin of error.
Long - short feather growth patterns don't work for Heritage type chickens unless bred for that trait.
These are the offspring of Dino, & Smarty Pants, 1 pullet is from Smarty's daughter. I no longer have Dino, but have his sons, along with his daughters.
The Breast Meat was like Turkey, wing meat was sweet.
My sister ate the legs. She says it tasted like a Silkie chicken, which tastes both Gamey, & Sweet.
Gonna try that Chameleon hen tonight for dinner. Wonder if it will be an improvement in taste from reusing the original birds from my original project, since these are free ranged more often.

They're definitely more wild then their father, which is something I don't like much, but it's good for a Free Ranging Landrace Breed. My lighter colored, & bigger boy screamed his head off when I finally got ahold of him.
