Well, it was very cloudy all day and don't ya know as soon as I got home 4pm the rain started! I've been tending to chickens & cleaning water jugs, looking at radar which says no rain...as a constant drizzle falls. While collecting eggs 5 deer ran by. If it was warm I'd garden, but arthritis is...
Wow, it is a surprise when a snake lunges at you, especially if you didn’t even know it was there. My dad said he nearly crapped his pants when he went into an outbuilding to find something...a big black snake "stood up" and was vertical, they stood eye to eye...before dad made a hasty retreat...
Happy Thursday, very cloudy, dreary, a bit & warmer but still a nippy breeze. Working today but hoping to get home 4pmish so I can rake out more nutsedge "pearls" to prep the garden area. It is a time consuming, back & knee aching, but necessary task. On the plus side, my chickens Love joining...
Today...clean out firepit & spread ash on garden. Lay down cardboard & mulch for the walkways, if my back can take it.
The flock Loves free range time with me out here to chase hawks & foxes off.
Looks familiar...Stuff like this is a normal occurrence in my world.
Not sure why my cooking gets messed up at times...I had a great example to follow. 😆 🤣 😂
Those darn weeds! Same with the nutsedge & Bermuda grasses, too. If one tiny piece remains, or of course the seeds get a chance, you'll get more of the weed. I swear my Johnsongrass here is a freaking perennial! 😡
I think I saw Shrek peeking out of there! 😆
Is this the brome weed? Yup, I've got tons of this, too.
Full can has shrunk down some but wow, it was to the brim Sat night! And there are still many to pull yet.
I guess I need to post a few of my embarrassing weed pics, maybe get an ID of the mystery weeds...how this stuff gets ahead of me so fast is downright embarrassing 😳
We've got the brome grass, too. I had to look it up, did not know the name of this stuff also here along with the Bermuda, crab, nutsedge & Johnson & some other crazy looking thing I've yet to ID. Ugh, this stuff is crazy, like there are literally 7 different kinds of grassy weeds here. Pulling...
Tried to stay up late Sat. Night to see the Aurora Borealis, as they said visibility is best 12am to 2am, (ended up being 4am...yeah, so tell me, who can pull off all nighters easily anymore...this ole gal sure can't! 😆 I mean holy crap...4am?...that's about when I wake up now, not by choice...
Wow, been in the 40s or 50s here, after nearly 90 degree spell last week...but I think we may get into 60s today, hard to say, it's often 10 to 15 degrees warmer inland & That's the temperature they always say it is...but on the coastline is usually cooler, often Alot cooler. It isn't windy &...
We did not get Aurora Borealis appearing here, too cloudy & rainy, but I think it's really cool. I heard Aquarid meteor shower may be visible, too.
Busy weekend in the sky!
Yesterday here was cold, windy & rainy. Went from a/c back to heat. I was forcing myself to rest on ice packs because the sacroiliac shots won't work if I jump back right into my normal activities. The sun is shining this morning. I must get eggs to market & tend to flock but will also do a walk...
