I have a silkie that lays nearly perfectly oblong eggs. I sit there and stare at those long enough, I think I have it. Then go to set them and I stare all over again lol.
I'm glad I use a desktop computer or you'd probably see some awfully funny autocorrects coming from me. I type so fast and don't look back as the MS Word autocorrect is always right!
I took "Pride" because I thought that sounded the least sinful. 😇 I think it's quite healthy actually to be proud of ourselves for the things we've accomplished.
We mostly all store them pointy side down until they are set, but a couple of days in between of being on their sides I doubt makes a difference, especially since they already were laying on their sides in the nest.
I have these big water-based markers, like for kids. I got those to mark heads or feet but I don't know why not an egg. I'd just make sure they dry fast is all.
I wouldn't put oil on a hatching egg. I have no idea why but it sounds like a bad idea. Maybe it'd hurt the bloom? I know there's oil in the wax some use to seal up cracks though. :confused:
