I agree with Sourland. Depends on how hard you stepped on it. Earlier this year, I stepped on a chick (the neck) and it died immediately. It began flapping around in circles for 30 seconds, then it layed still, dead. I would definitely give it a chance. Keep us dated. Good luck.
