On the OEGBs. It's only two of them now the third got through the issues on its own. The other two tho aren't showing much improvement. Only their vigor is up. Neither can stand on their own yet.
Vitamin deficiency at hatch. So not enough nutrients in the yoke when it's absorbed.
I can see why OEGB and Sebrights have issues making it after hatch now. Both when I have hatched them have had this issue.
⬆️So it is being held upright in my hand here. I have two doing this.
⬆️ Same here.
⬆️ The makeshift stability chair made from an egg carton this time. Not as good as the solo cup one I made for the two in the Halloween hatch. But it should work.
I'm doing nutri-drench for both and will give...
I'm having to baby two of the OEGB hatch outs because they are stargazing. :hmm
Off to TSC to get vet wrap to make a stability chair. I have nutradrench and I've given the first one 2 drops and a few hrs later 2 more drops. Not even a cc. It's doing better but I think I'm going to do some...
Very small pip in one egg this evening. So I must have set pretty late on Saturday. All twelve where moving and maybe air cell piped.
Heat is ramping up so I have to get one of the half done pens completely done this weekend so I can start getting more babies out of the garage. I think with...
I think if have any excess cockerels that I can't even give away I'll be going the pet food route. Most of my birds are egg birds and not dual purpose at the moment. The exception are the Ameraucana.
May I suggest that they could be used for pet food as well.
I'm almost done hatching. One last batch that are the blue golden duckwing OEGB then I'm done untill maybe setting a very limited number for Halloween. Hopefully we will get some sold in a few weeks. But I've got to get my partially...
Should have gotten baby pics the other day when it was clean. I'll get some Sunday or Monday.
Also have you ever had issues with babies gaining weight? Or not eating much but still being very active?
I ask because I feel the keel bones on all of them even the ones I moved out to the adult...
Either blue Dutch or blue rosecomb that ended up with a straight comb. Alot of the rosecombs I've gotten that are hatchery-quality or backyard quality end up with straight combs.
I have at the moment counting chicks over 100. Even with my losses. In two weeks time I'll be offering up the ones we aren't keeping for sale. Will be out of town this next weekend or I would be shooting for then to try selling them.
LOL. I feel or resemble that wanting to do too much at once 2ndTink. I am really trying to talk myself down from all the different breeds I have and into focusing on one color. Its very very hard to do!
