Burrrrr. The cold has been setting in. 25-30 degrees at night with high in mid 50s. No precipitation. Been like this for a week with another week of it forecasted. Man the autumn colors are really starting to pop. Love this time of year.
Well they are different pencil colors but I have too many of each color. 5 tricolor Tom's and I need 2, 3 pencil blue Tom's and I need 1. 5 royal Tom's and I need 2. Yeah it's like that for every variety. Lots of decisions to make about who is getting sold and going to freezer camp.
Hehehe try having like 10 extra toms.... I dont want to get rid of them. Never know if something will happen and a backup is required. Think I have 5 tricolor Tom's and I only need 2 :( decisions decisions
I wish I would have decided to keep the saddles on for a bit longer. Just had a hen get severely injured after being mated by the big tom. Huge laceration all down one side, backbone to almost the knee. It's horrible. Hope we fixed it well enough and the flies leave her alone
Looks to be semi pencil to me Aurora. Fan pattern is too irregular to not be. Still a bit young for me to want to make a guess on variety tho lol. Very pretty baby!
Been the weirdest weather this year. The coolness and rain is weeks early. Birds started molting early. Crop harvests have been a few weeks off. I feel a long harsh winter incoming.
45 degrees here and raining. Yesterday with the full moon, there was a nice frosty layer. I had to defrost my truck. There are already winter storm advisories in the mountains of Montana and Idaho 4-8" of possible snow..... its not even September....
Nice! That's super awesome! You have some excellent birds r2elk. So gorgeous. I've been tempted to show some myself but I dont know if I can handle the poultry show mentality lol.
They all look so sad right now. One more month and they should be all shiny and new. Maple has been roaming around giving me "the bird". Lol. Been having a cooler spell in my area as well. It's been high 40s and low 50s in the mornings. Daily highs of 70-75 for the next few days. I hope the wind...
She is about 4 months. The youngest and most spoiled of the triblues. Cant go anywhere without her following me or sit without her in my lap. She is quite imprinted lol. Loves to sit in my lap, tuck her head under my arm and nap. Too damn adorable.
This is my Lyla lapper. She is just too sweet! I love this little freak, she is spoiled rotten. She is going to make me some pencilled blue fallfires next year!
Much much better but I got very attached to my butterball. I tried too hard hoping it was a hen, just my luck lol. Brooded those little suckers in my house and they had free reign lol
