    Bumblefoot can't cure!

Yes sometimes I have to stroke their throat to remind them to swallow. I would freak if I strangled a chicken....I'd have no clue what to do to help! Can't exactly yank their arm up or beat them on the back!

    Bumblefoot can't cure!

Thanks! I have had good success with grabbing the wattles under the chin and using my index finger of the same hand to push the upper beak up and then I can dribble a little in. I let go and wait till they swallow. Repeat till all is gone. SLOW process but it is the easiest I've found. I am not...

    Bumblefoot can't cure!

Mine is listed as ClinDrops and then has the actual name under that. I guess we would need someone who understands how this is metabolized by the chicken to figure out a withdrawal time?

    Bumblefoot can't cure!

I don;'t have a clue but she has been molting and isn't laying so I figure the usual two or three weeks would suffice...? I've never seen it referred to before for use in chickens so I don't know how one would find out. Good question.

    Bumblefoot can't cure!

My vet gave me clindamycin hydrochloride for mine so (she seems fine) I guess it's okay for chickens. I gave her 1/2 cc per day. However this is the chicken that seems to have a spot of the infection still left. I am watching it to see if I am going to have to open it up to dig it out.

    Bumblefoot can't cure!

Yes I am using it to help the wound heal. The foot does best, I feel, when the infection is physically removed. I hardly ever have gotten a nice kernel....it seems like it is stringy and hard to get.

    Bumblefoot can't cure!

It won't heal till all the infection is out for sure. I am using vetericyn and making sure I keep the bandages on long enough this time. Some of them are just so hard to get rid of it seems.
