We have done it both ways ... purchased an adult buck and purchased a buckling and raised it. Both worked out just fine.
That would depend on the owner and their experience and knowledge. Not every owner should do it themselves but plenty can, should, and do ... and do a great job.
I madly adore my Nigerian Dwarfs ... they are like puppies. When I get to the farm they come running, skipping, and hopping to great me. They are incredibly agile but I have never done any agility work with them so I can't speak on how they would do with a course.
Winter kidding season is over ... 12 adorable babies but sadly lost 2.

Well our little Buckshot SpongeBob Buckaroo Bonzai has gone to his new home. We'll miss you little man but it sounds like there will be lots of girls in his future. LOL
Woohoo ... I was there at the right time today. Got to the barn in time to see the first of her kids on the ground with the sac still fully intact and she was gurgling. Got her free and airway clear ... Called to family for towels ... And got to catch number 2. 1 girl 1 boy.

We've got another one now ... no ligaments, puffy and swollen, opening up some. I have zero doubt that she will deliver overnight tonight. It's been a beautiful sunny warm day today Overnight is supposed to be increasing clouds and chance of light rain/drizzle. Argh!
