Capt, I'll be penning mine next month to start collecting eggs... not central but Roanoke area, if you're willing to drive or ship (eggs not chicks). Once I start hatching I won't be selling chicks right away, until they're grown a bit more and I can tell color, since I know ME and I keep...

yeah it's 646 but it's not horribly active, so I don't think we need another sub-thread. it's taken nearly 9 years (approx. 455 weeks) to get all these posts. roughly 14 posts per week... not a hard thing to keep up with. edit: ok 647 now. LOL but I still think having sub-state threads...

good seeing you too! it worked out well, I ended up swapping for the rabbits and got a couple square bales from him when we made the swap. so now the bunnies have hay too. much easier than peeling off the horse's round bales

what variety of Dorking? where did they come from? always trying to network the dorking breeders together so it doesn't get neglected like it has in the past. I have silver grey & red primarily, with some colored project birds and a bunch of colored from Sandhill growing out (mostly cockerels)

I have no clue what started this train of topic, but I've had problems with egg eaters before. some birds have responded by increasing protein, others by a change of scenery (tossed out of the pen to free range for a while), and others were only cured by the crock pot.

I think you said you wanted an assortment out of what came in, so that would be the bjg, ex leghorns, then an assortment of the barred Holland, white orp, iowa blue and red Sussex.

speaking of rabbits, I'll be bringing an assortment of 8-10 week old bunnies with me to Gilmanor. not my own, I don't raise rabbits, but a neighbor and coworker raises and shows (successfully!) mini rex. not sure exactly how many or the sexes, but here are some pics of a few of them...

those were probably Julie's... she has some very nice reds and 'dark reds' as the UK calls them. basically a red version of the colored Dorking. you couldn't have gone wrong with them. https://www.facebook.com/julie.g.gupton not for sure, but she's had rabbits (and has shown) AND I know...
