So I have a conundrum 2 blue eggs in my nest today, which leads me to 2 possibilities 1. My EE laid a egg yesterday (I checked yesterday but not last night or this morning) and a smaller bluer egg today. 2. My dorking (5 toes)/wyandotte is a dorking/EE (read weebie) and laid her first egg...

mabelino where do you live? If you want to learn how to process many local farms will let you come out to experience it. I know people and farms for the tidewater area, there are others on here who can give you help if you are closer to them. J

Has anyone on here had issues with VA cities re-zoning for chickens or changing the zoning?? Hampton currently has 175 ft setback, but then no limits on chickens unless you get noise or smell complaints... there is a proposal to change it to 20ft setback but the chicken limit will then be 4...

For VA peeps here is a link to a organic, soy free source of chicken feed. They have deliveries all over VA. http://www.countrysideorganics.com/home.php The farm I get milk, pork and beef from recommended them to me.

EEEEWWWWWWWWW That would freak me out, we had baby toads in our backyard in SC and my weims would eat them and then foam at the mouth, luckily I never saw snakes

^ that is frustrating that someone would try to pawn off a sick chicken. It could have taken out the whole flock. My multitasking fail for the day: dont forget you have eggs in your pockets when you start trying to do other chores...broken eggs in both pockets not cool at all
