Emptied barrel composter into 2 separated, stackable pallets on the ground outside rabbitry. I plan on putting melons and pumpkins in them as above ground, no dirt (compost only) temporary season beds.
Added fresh load to barrel. Turned 2 compost bins in about 20 minutes by taking top pallet...
Lol that's punny
I give them to very thankful people and share plus feed the animals awhile :)
Not sure if I'm allowed to sell food items. I do sell the plants often :)
Took forever figure out how to fruit them. Lol
We used to chop them all down each October when theyd die after a freeze (short freezes here tho)
They grow FAST come spring from ground to 10ft by May. We do nothing but rinse the chicken feeders and such off at the plant bases throughout the year...
I'll be planting garlic tomorrow. I took 6 cuttings of my toms before the freeze and transplanted them into 18 hour lights and 1 gallon containers. They're lovin life!
Harvested bananas before and after the freeze and this year was about 100lbs harvest. Half going to the animals :) awesome...

The chicken waste I compost in a barrel composter (few weeks) then use it, never had a burning issue.
I too read so much conflicting info I usually try it out on test areas 1st lol
Yes. Sometimes mine hit 6 feet tall, 4 leaves lol plenty of flowers and okra so I haven't messed with it. But we don't eat much of it. Chickens LOVE it chopped and fried with jalapeno lol
Red mustard greens doin well
Okra is hanging on
This one lone broccoli looks great! The rest of the row is still 3 inches tall :/
The herbs are all thriving
Got some romaine lettuce, Swiss chards, asparagus, peas and carrots moving right along too :)
Thanks!
I grow lotsa basil. Green & purple.
I love it as an edible filler in the garden and have enough to sprinkle fresh in the chickens nests (they LOVE flinging pintched basil tops on their backs while laying lol weird but sure smells good! Hubby says I'm trying to Pre-season lmao.

A few weeks ago we amended the soil in one of the gardens and hubby built a barrel composter.
We stuffed the barrel full of scraps and shredded paper products.
We turn the barrel once a day for 2 weeks and so far its working wonderfully. 2 more weeks it should be done.
We seeded...
My husband just mentioned getting some compost piles going ...real ones not my pile if chicken poop n hay lol
We have so many large river oak trees and southern magnolia trees about to shed, literally a half ton of leaves that we move to pretty the grounds and often burn or send away lol well...
