Lol...sadly, I do not have an angel child.
We built a gate between the chicken stall and the middle stall and all the chickens are standing at the gate, looking between the slats like they're trying to get a peek of the babies. It's odd.
My oldest is nine and ALREADY starting the "fun" whiney, emotional, and sassy phase. I long for the days of a speech delayed two year old.
Chickens-Is it normal that all the other chickens are now swarming to try to get in the middle stall, where my Silkie is? It's like they know there's babies...
Ok, I am officially sick of the thin shelled egg being broken in the nest box almost every other day. I know it's one of The Sisters, a sex link, I'm just not sure which one. They're the first to lay every day, so what time do I need to go out there to watch? Sun up, or before? I can't keep...
If you do more of the work, then I think it's fine for your group to have a loss after Dylan's, instead of your group first. And he should understand why he may have one more loss then the two other groups, especially your parents, he who pays more gets more.
I think the losses should come out evenly, starting with your group, then Dylans, then your parents. Always keep it fair, but your parents group should be last to lose, since they're paying full price.
So, last night after dinner we followed our normal routine...water the new tree, fill the pond, check chicken food and chickens....and check the broodies. So we're squatting down, me and hubby, chatting about who knows what and watching Cloud the Silkie when my husband goes "did you hear that!"...
Fixed the photos.
And I agree about not constantly making them have additives. I put ACV in the water every three days, but clean and fill the water every day. I do cheyenne once a month or so and same for oregano.
I used Nustock to soothe the red skin from the feathers getting pulled out by the poo, poor girls. You're right though, I had noticed the poo butt earlier but it was a small amount and didn't cause an issue, then all of a sudden I had chickens with little naked patches. I'm quite surprised at...
My chicks get heat, they can go under it as they choose, but I wouldn't not heat them. It does get pretty cool here in the evenings, and I'd prefer they not mound on eachother. I've read quite a few stories about the chick dead under the group of huddled chicks. To each their own.
My little...
On the Eco glow...my normal electric bill is around $85, I track them, and my bill during brooding the ducks with a 250w heat lamp was $146. That is a lot! I'm very happy I bought the Eco glow.
The ducks! Such pigs. They're happy most days to just hang out in the pond, but we recently planted a tree and now they're playing in the trees water hole. Making me crazy. We've been thinking about giving them away. They're very different from chickens. I have the room for them, but it doesn't...
I can't believe how fast my Cream Legbars are growing. I love when I go out there and they're passed out half under the Eco glow. I made bone in chicken breast two nights ago, and we pulled the meat off and gave the chicks one of the bones. An hour later the bone was a foot away from the plate...
