    So sorry to hear about the Urch order. If your broody has already proven herself you should be good. I've had big hens hatch a huge clutch of bantams eggs and had awesome sucess. If adding the chicks to her just be sure she accepts them and they accept her. Believe it or not sometimes they won't...

    Oh, Mayah, my broody has one of juniors babies and two that hatched bator style.

    Hatch outcome: 51 eggs, 39 lockdown, 26 hatched, 1 deceased, leaving 25 chicks. Broody all 7 eggs hatched. AND ask and you shall receive mean OEG went broody BUT BUT also: Blue Orphington - given to me a month ago because she was broody but rejected the eggs and wanted to be a hen again OEG...

    I rehome roosters for breeding. I do not keep roosters that are agressive towards my children or me of course. So sometimes they end up in the stewpot. But lots of land for them to be a rooster oh and lots of chickens too. lol
