Curious. I find if I don't let bread cool totally, it gets soggy in the bag. Even when cooled I put a paper towel under the loaf in the bag. Usually I slice it first then freeze what I won't use in 2 or 3 days. Works fine.
Not surprising given the cost of off road diesel at the moment. It has finally dropped to just under $5/gallon here. I suppose the farmers might pay a bit less if they get it straight from the distributor and in large quantity.
Yes, a good chef's knife (*) will do the trick but REAL men use power tools whenever possible ;)
* which everyone SHOULD have but many don't and use the wrong knife instead of that "scary big one". Really, the WRONG knife for the job is more dangerous than the scary big one.
Easy, they are aliens!
Blacklight flashlight after dark lets you remove the small ones before they have all night to grow.
My chickens don't alert on anything but the alpacas do. They mostly now ignore the deer and turkeys though they did alert on something that I'm GUESSING was a fox trotting...
They glow a light green in the dark under a black light.
I've not had problems with the bunnies here. The things they would eat in the garden are protected by chicken wire. We see at least 4 or 5 in front of the house and barn. They like the clover. One didn't make it across the road the other day.
Nah, Daisy is the dumbest chicken ever, 3 year old White Rock. She started eating eggs this year, never did that before. Sure she doesn't have to vie for roost space but she never gets out of her coop in the barn. All the other girls go out every day and do whatever they want until it gets dark...
I planted parsnips for the first time this year. DW wants me to use them in soup. Are they better if left until a hard frost?
I love Suyo Longs! Just wash them in the bathroom sink, first one end, then the other :D
Excellent plan. One would need to have a thousand acres, maybe more, to move...
Ran the string trimmer in the garden area so I could walk to the planting areas. Also in areas where the rider doesn't get, DD2 mowed ... finished just before the T-storm came through. Harvested about a cup of red currants. The champagne and blacks don't seem to be ready yet. Was going to pick...
Oh my, that one sure escaped you earlier! I find it odd, somewhat funny, that one can totally not see a huge one when looking for small ones. Sometimes it is easiest to look for hornworm turds then look on the leaves/branches above.
Same at 27
You aren't going to have a vet come check her out??
Hadn't rained for a few days. It was supposed to rain some overnight and this morning. I watered the garden yesterday afternoon to make sure we would get rain ;)
While watering I saw several zucchini on the plant, they...
