My lower back got strained picking peppers from one of those folding stools. Feels like a 16 penny nail stuck in just to the right of my top of my butt crack & goes down the right side of my leg. Tried heat/cold & the thing that helps most is, Arnicare Gel. Nothing else comes close to...

What did you do in the garden today?

Just make it so you can fold the cover back when the weather is clear & sunny then fold it back at night. Sounds like a lot of trouble but it's not really, it's just a way to protect your plants longer.

You know the white frost covers. Just put up some 2x2 stakes 4' long & we used shade cloth black 30% & tied that off to the 2x2s first. Then we stretched the white row covers over that. It will withstand more wind & overnight snow. Make sure to leave easy entry to harvest your greens...

The trick is to cut a V trough & fill with sterile soil, then seed direct when the night time temps go down to the 60s & 70s. When your seeds sprout you know what they look like & you get a jump on the weeds. We have harvested these types greens with snow on them in Dec, they were sweet as...

Well I stand corrected. Looks as if your right. I have switched to Spinosad for worms & borers + it controls Flea beetle & Japanese beetles & bean beetles as well. I will have to try this with Spinosad if I find borers. By the time we have problem's everyone & the neighbors are sick of...

What did you do in the garden today?

Don't understand. Why would you inject a Bacteriological wormicide meant to be eaten by the pest, into a living plant? I have only used an IV injection in a living plant with Gibberellic acid as a Horticulture School experiment & you would not want to eat the plant or fruit.

We have learned that sprinkling a small amount of this around outside your home will keep most ants at bay. It kills them like being stuck by knives & they dry out & die...

What did you do in the garden today?

I am going to summit a list of seeds I have in early November, time enough to gather the 23 crop of seeds in. You should have 15 or 20 seeds in individual packets labeled with germination percentage ( optional ) to send in bubble wrap envelopes, USPS can be brutal. More than 20 seeds is just...

We ought to start a seed swap between members sticky. I joke as I sit & count my seeds from my plants that some seed dealer took me for 40 or 50 cents per seed. Now I have hundreds of those 40 & 50 cent seeds LOL. Why not trade seeds with other gardeners & spread our wealth?

The ammo can & double bag system has worked very well for us. The 50 cal metal box has a rubber seal so you can store your seeds on a cool place. I dry our seeds on a paper plate on top of our commercial Bunn Coffee maker for 2 days. We found that like the old Parks seeds packets that...

Good things come in small packages like the Chilitepin, Aji Charapita, & the Pequin. These peppers have the common name of Bird Peppers, the birds have done more to spread these peppers than anything else. Each has it's own unique flavor & spice level The Aji Charapita was once the worlds...
