What did you do in the garden today?

You've had some crazy weather there. At least here in northern Idaho we expect frigid conditions and snow, and we've got plenty. Everything's under a blanket of fluffy white.

What did you do in the garden today?

    All are definitely possible.

What did you do in the garden today?

Busy getting the house ready to put on the market, so not enough attention to the garden :( This image isn't very good at showing it, but something has eaten the leaves off this parsley stalk and completely denuded another. I've been treating for slugs, voles and cabbage worms and am not sure...

What did you do in the garden today?

OFW, I have trouble growing carrots too, even in soil that seems ideal. So this year I scattered the seed and covered it with cardboard for a couple of weeks or so. Lots of it is up. We'll see whether the carrots develop normally. I think I have to play with it until I find out what will work.

What did you do in the garden today?

Not raining today, at least so far. I'll be busy clearing out the garage. I did find some pea seeds and some unidenfiables, so just threw them in.

What did you do in the garden today?

I'm not sure about dill as a repellent, but I enjoy using it in cooking and salads. Love its fragrance as well.

What did you do in the garden today?

I haven't put in any corn yet and suspect that some seeds I put in earlier were lost because of the rain and cool weather. I have a house guest this week, so can't put much, if any, time into the garden, but I hear it calling my name. And guess what a stunt I pulled off: I left the bag of slug...

What did you do in the garden today?

Yes, AlHawk, I'd guess the rain if it were my garden. I'm curious to see what's happening in my garden with all this flooding rain. It's too early up here for tomatoes, and even my peas are dragging along. I do want to harvest some spinach, lettuce and yokatta na, even though they're still...

    Nicely done! It looks great.

What did you do in the garden today?

My honeybees died over the winter, with just a few remaining and trying to stay busy. I've got other pollinators, but what amazes me is the proliferation of bumblebees. They make a lovely strumming among the raspberries. They are so focused and thorough as they work through the patch.

What did you do in the garden today?

Drenching rains here too. If it were sunny, I'd likely not get anything done inside. Love the sound of the rain on the roof and the deck. I'd like to play in the rain for a while, though, and start more radishes and lettuce and whatever else. Conditions are just right, and I'd like to keep an...

What did you do in the garden today?

They're not all fanatics? Last year when I took parsley starts to neighbors, they looked at me with suspicion! Who knows what was on their minds? Doesn't matter as long as I have the pleasure of playing in the dirt. What do you do with borage? I planted some last year and then couldn't figure...

What did you do in the garden today?

Adventures in Gardening, Episode 327: The wind knocked over my plastic greenhouse; it was on the ground because of the deck being painted. Consequently, a lot of plants are going into the ground right away, some done and more to come.

What did you do in the garden today?

That pear tree looks great. The way I trellis tomatoes and raspberries is t-posts with wire or rope connecting them. Keeps things in order. I've set up bamboo tepees for the peas and beans, just because I have them.

What did you do in the garden today?

I love broccoli from my garden (cauliflower and cabbage too)! The main thing I learned about cauliflower was to harvest it when it's ready and not to let it stand. The aphids got mine last year. None for them this year.

What did you do in the garden today?

Herfrds, I'm doing pretty much the same over here in north Idaho, except that I think I'll be fine with lettuce, mache, radishes, carrots and peas in the ground. Everything else is still inside.

What did you do in the garden today?

AlHawk, sounds like an interesting plan to put up a sail for that. It gets so stinkin' hot down there. I've also started pre-sprouting a number of things in anticipation of getting another seedling table set up or adding cool-weather things to what is already out there. I also want to set up my...

What did you do in the garden today?

AlHawk, I might be envious up here in Zone 4 until I remember that, come June or July, your plants may be struggling under the sun. Will you put shade over them then?

What did you do in the garden today?

Maine--when it's dry it's dry, but only until a Nor'Easter comes. So, I didn't get outside except to feed the chicks; but I did start some things inside: peppers, leeks, cilantro, lettuce. I am also pre-sprouting: beets, carrots, radishes, spinach and snow peas, some to see if the seed is still...

What did you do in the garden today?

Too tired to do a bloomin' thing today. I'd like to--maybe later.
