    MARYLAND THREAD!

I have some roosters and cockerels that are surplus and looking for a home. The banties are Jap based crosses, active and loud! They started crowing at 3 days I think! The banties are my grandsons and the hens hatched a batch on the sly on us. I usually use the hens as natural incubators, for...

I can tell you we have had crippled chickens that lived for up to 5 years with little problems. I would watch for swelling or infection, and i use to cage them every now and then to rst and fatten up.

OK, here is the Roo I need to rehome in Northern Calvert County. He is about 15-16 months old, a little feisty with birds but good with the humans around here. Thanks.

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Nice filly! I had a QH mare looked just like this, also foaled in 83/84. She was an accidental breeding between a 32 yr old Stallion and a 20 yr old mare, so she had longevity genes. Had to sell her in 87/88 when I hurt my back and couldn't care for the horses for a while. Anyway, these pix...

Don't do it. Just block the ones that irritate you. You will really regret letting a few run you out of town like this. So, stick with it, use the block key, and carry on. Really.

Last I heard, there was a place near Sharpsburg, you hand over the birds at 7 am, come back after 2 pm and pick them up. Maybe somebody will post name/address if he still does it.

You may have a subdivision covenant in Port Republic that prohibits fowl, but not a County restriction. Only the incorporated city of Chesapeake Beach prohibits fowl in Calvert County.

Anna Lee, If yo have space for 2 or 3 adult birds you can take 6 Welsummer chicks, brood them and then introduce to coop. You could wean the existing flock or sell the extra Welsummers, keeping the best. Does that help?

    MARYLAND THREAD!

We have had chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys here since 1984. I previously owned chickens as far back as 1963. Mostly Barred Plymouth Rocks, White Ply. Rocks, mostly barnyard mixes. Just started pure Welsummers and Rhode Island Whites. Hey, I have an extra Welsummer rooster that needs...

Does anybody know a good poultry house in Maryland that can process my culls for me? Some place I can drop them off and pick up frozen in a couple days would be great.

    MARYLAND THREAD!

The best commute is from South and east of DC. Worst is from North, and Northwest. VA has only bridges to get in DC, yukky. I would look in Calvert and South Anne Arundel counties. very chicken friendly. P.G. and Montgomery tax even the air you breath.Howard County is chicken unfriendly and a...
