Not really. They have the San Diego Zoo strain which are a mix with lots of Domestic genes…they might even be mostly domestic. The birds at the zoo were free range and there were lots of domestic birds that ran with them.

My Greys laid a total of 11 eggs but broke two. Out of the 9 eggs that I incubated I hatched 6 chicks. Unfortunately I went on vacation for a week and when I returned the three smallest had died. The older three are still doing well.

I’m up to 7 Grey Jungle Fowl eggs and the first three seem to be developing. Still no eggs from the Ceylons or Greens but I finally got the Greens to sit still long enough for a photo.

I’ve got three Grey Junglefowl eggs in the incubator. Wish me luck...these are my first ones!

I’d be VERY suspicious of anyone selling Green Jungle Fowl eggs for $35/egg...and how many would they have to have to be able to sell 20 at a time?!?! Since started chicks sell for $450/pair you’d think anyone would rather hatch them out than sell the eggs for $35 each.

They usually have ads on Softbillsforsale.com. Mine were from Stuart Denton in Florida.

I haven’t gotten any eggs yet. I haven’t heard the male crow yet so he might not be mature enough. I haven’t seen anyone sell eggs though. They only lay 6-20 per year and they tend to be hard to hatch and very hard to raise up. Everyone that I’ve seen selling them seem to sell started...

    Jungle Fowl

I’ve got my Greys, Greens and Ceylons now. So far they seem to be doing well and actually seem more tame that I expected. Initially I was surprised that they Greys were more wild than the Greens but over time it seems like the Greens are almost as jumpy as they were when I got them but the...

Yes...there's a nice pair of proven breeder Greens available for $750 in San Diego. He doesn't ship though.

Thanks! I'm still trying to get a pair of Ceylons and a pair of Greens. I have a source for the Ceylons but I'm not sure if I can get a pair from this year or if I'll need to wait until next year. The guy said that he had a few trades left to do this year and might have an extra pair that I...

    Jungle Fowl

I managed to find a nice pair of juvenile Grey Jungle Fowl. They should breed by next spring. I don't have much hope in taming these down much but hopefully I can get some nice chicks out of them and tame those down a bit through hand feeding mealworms and black soldier fly larvae (and at...

    Jungle Fowl

I'm now officially looking for a pair of Green Jungle Fowl. I have the habitat set up and I have the cash. I even have colonies of Dubai roaches, mealworms and black soldier flies producing now so I can offer lots of live insects to add to their diet. If you have a pair available and are...

    Jungle Fowl

How much? I personally would rather have birds that were not vaccinated because I'd hate to have any birds that were hidden carriers. I'm assuming that you've never had a problem with Marek's on your property...is that correct? I'd be interested in a pair and maybe an extra female.

The reality is that almost 100% (say, 98%) of what is sold as "Red Jungle Fowl" is not pure. Even in their native habitat most (possibly ALL) Red Jungle Fowl have been contaminated with domestic chicken genetics. So...pure Red Jungle Fowl is unlikely. That being said, domesticated chickens...

Well now that's just offensive! Nah...but my wrist location wasn't photoshopped! Just the bird. I guess it's a little quiet on this thread. It was a good April Fool's joke on one of the Facebook poultry sites.
