Hey all! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the weather -- which is kinda icky today, but better than 40s and snow! HAH!
Have a couple of things from South Jersey to post today....
1. I am looking for 2 LF Cochin pullets/hens. I lost one to illness 2 days ago. My 2 splash boys...
Hey NJers! Spring is here -- FINALLY!!!! Wooooo!!! My girls are laying again and the grass is turning green again! I have a few 5 month old bantam Cochins for sale if anyone nearby is looking to add to their flock! (Gotta make room for the 15 eggs going in the incubator!)...
We have had a couple of hens pass this summer/fall now due to something strange too. Dunno what it was.
I have yet to cull a bird (myself) because I am just too soft hearted to do it. And these birds are our pets and we love them.
Any other soft hearted flock owners out there?? How do YOU...
We have recently decided to rehome all of our Seramas. (Just too many birds right now!) I have 4 or 5 pairs that are available. I don't have pictures of them yet. PM me if you are interested in seeing them! Some are as young as 8 weeks, some are as old as 6 months. Prices negotiable.
I am having some sort of respiratory illness go thru the flock! It stinks because at first it was just the one little Serama guy...I got him cured with Tylan and did my best to keep him separated. Then 2 days ago I noticed that at least 2 of my bigger hens are sneezing and sounding congested...
Anyone in the area have Serama pullets/hens they would be interested in selling? I have 6 roos and only 4 hens...LOL.
Let me know! I can use smooth or silkied. Thanks!
I have finally decided (after 2 years of raising chickens), that I want to do a Serama project and also a LF Mille Fleur/Calico Cochin project! So excited to get started!
You are only a few minutes from my town (Moorestown, NJ), and there ARE definitely hawks and possums! We made our run all with chicken wire and wood - in a year, nothing has got into it. I let the chickens free range the backyard if I am home and can keep an ear/eye out. (We lost a silkie...
