Muesky heard from him recently. He had been in the hospital with a serious infection he got from a cut on his hand. He is better now. I don't know about his Cornish stock. Muesky knows how to reach him.

@mjgigax This Chocolate Cuckoo has her 6 chicks on the floor now. She is a great mother puffing up to protect them. She constantly talks to them. I glad the Orpington girl is doing so well. Are her chicks mixed? I forgot if the male youhatched is a cockoo or solid. I have noticed that...

Yes, I'm lucky this time. I could watch them all day. The girls kept the babies warm overnight Friday when we had the freeze. The chicks were tucked way, way up under the "mama's" wings and she was tucked in the corned of the coop right next to the Broody girl. The NN chick hatched the next morning.

I have been using these laundry bags to keep eggs separated in the hatcher. They work very well. Chicks were getting caught under the wire separators in my hatching trays and I lost more than one from them being injured. Plus the wire tray tops wouldn't stay down and chicks were getting mixed...

Once, when DH left his truck window open over night, our young cat got in and found the box of Kleenex tissues on the back seat. She must have had a blast because she pulled out every tissue one at a time. It looked as if it had snowed all over the back seat and floor.
