Well my BBS are laying the best they have laid in over a year. Both of the older hens stopped laying about Aug and had HARD molts. Lost almost every feather they had. Now they and their daughter is laying, I am averaging about 1.5 eggs a day.
My BBS Orps are laying about 5 eggs a week now. My two main hens went thru a very hard molt. Imagine Fawkes on Harry Potter hard. They look so small and pathetic.
Anyway, the young pullet has started laying, and I think the other molting two are trying. So since I don't want to eat...

Honestly I don't know. I have 2 that are a few mos old, and I am going by the fact that one is still mostly naked, and so figuring he is all boy. Poor little one has been adopted by a silkie to keep him warm.
Does anyone have any pics of when they are at the 10-16 week age? I have one that has a very nice cushion, but most of the ones I am hatching the tail just doesn't look right. I would love to see teen pics and then the adult pics of the same bird if you have them.
Thanks!!!!!

No fertility has been good. I did take out one of the roosters (the black whose body type was not as good as the splash) so now it is just a trio in the pen. I have 8 eggs in the incubator right now. I guess I should candle them and see what how they are growing. The heat here has slowed...
