Maybe? Was it marked as such at the feedstore? If it came from a mixed bin, you'll need to grow it out to know for sure.

My original birds came from breeders in Washington and Louisiana. I know for sure one sold off all of their breeding stock, unsure if the other still breeds bantam Orps. These were both from imported and American SOP lines. I purchased hatching eggs from Blue Rein Poultry, cannot remember the...

Pictures of my flock, I culled hard from last year, keeping only 2 Blue & 3 Black hens. One of the Blacks is currently raising a trio of Olive Egger chicks, so she isn't pictured. My roo is Mauve. I'm really looking forward to hatching this season.

Hi @jkw8363! :welcome I'm in Oakland, I'm breeding a small flock of BBS. I started with Chocs a few years back but have steadily bred away from the color, while retaining good English SOP type. I wasn't happy with the BBS stock I could find, none looked like their LF import type "cousins", so...

@Honora , he's a funny little guy. He always keeps an eye on me, but has never been a mean bird. I like to think it's mutual respect.

She's a beauty @Honora ! We've lucked out so far this winter, no broodies to report. But that probably has something to do with them not laying any eggs, for weeks. Tis the season. I'm itching to hatch chicks myself, are yours bantam Orps?

Anyone interested in a bantam Chocolate Orp cockerel? He's a sweet boy, and should grow out into a beautiful bird. Put him over hens any color (other than Chocolate), and he will produce sex-linked offspring. Choc male X Black female= 50% Black males, split to/recessively carrying Choc and 50%...

I'm crossing a Mauve cockerel (Choc + Blue) over Buff pullets this year, their offspring will be the first generation of a project I'm working on. As I progress I'll probably post pictures here. My best guess is that in the first generation the chicks will be Blue, Black, Mauve, or Chocolate...

A few more pictures... Blue split Chocolate cockerel I'm growing out, the only Blue boy I hatched this year. His color is a bit all over the place right now, but I like his type. He's showing some promise. Splash split Chocolate cockerel, half brother to the Blue, same father but...

Go Cookie! My broody had a difficult time transitioning back into the flock after she brooded chicks, she's always been a sweet & mild tempered girl. So when I reintroduced her & her babies, she quickly fell to the bottom of the pecking order. Poor girl. Quick pic (with my iPhone) of one of...
